ACT Laboratory

Analytical Chemical Testing Laboratory, Inc. (ACT) is a 27-year-old Consulting Analytical Testing &
Engineering Company located in Mobile, Alabama. The laboratory has in-house capabilities that include:
Gas Chromatography; Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer/Graphite Furnace; Infra-Red Hydrocarbon Spectrophotometer, and Ultra-Violet-Visible Spectrophotometer.

ACT performs comprehensive testing and design Services for water, wastewater, stormwater, and construction materials. ACT designs filtration systems for the removal of pollutants and contaminants from water and wastewater using project-specific components-dedicated to pollutant and contaminant removal processes required for each project. We routinely perform sampling and analysis for permitees within the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program.

ACT has experienced technicians who perform hydraulic oil and fuel analysis including microscopic-particulate counts, with NAS 1638 Class determinations. The laboratory does comprehensive petroleum analyses that include wear metals, contaminants, flash point, and viscosity.

Additionally, ACT has extensive experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s), directing and performing Phase II delineations, and Phase III remediation efforts. To that end, ACT prepares Best Management Practices Plans (BMP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC), as well as Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPP).

All methodologies utilized are in accordance with those specified by the American Section of the International Association for Testing Materials (ASTM), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM)
